August 31, 2007 - Area residents with ties to Peru have called on the Mid-Fairfield County Chapter of the American Red Cross to assist them in raising funds for the Red Cross relief effort in earthquake stricken Peru.

August 28, 2007 - Preparedness Month Offers Opportunities for Volunteers. September is National Preparedness Month. To be prepared for manmade and natural disasters the Mid-Fairfield County Chapter of the American Red Cross depends on volunteers. Consequently, volunteers have a host of opportunities to choose from at their local chapter.

August 27, 2007 - Red Cross Sets Health & Safety Schedule for September. The Mid-Fairfield County Chapter of the American Red Cross has announced its Health & Safety Training schedule for it's Norwalk location.

August 26, 2007 - September Blood Drive Locations Announced. In an attempt to alleviate the shortage of blood in Connecticut, the Mid-Fairfield County Chapter, of the American Red Cross is announcing its area blood drive locations for September.

August 23, 2007 - Red Cross Sets Health & Safety Schedule for September. The Mid-Fairfield County Chapter of the American Red Cross has announced its Health & Safety Training schedule for it's Bridgeport location.

July 9, 2007 - How to Live With a Heat Wave. As temperatures and humidity rise families need to prepare for that eventual summer heat wave. says Dianne Auger, CEO of the Mid-Fairfield Chapter of the American Red Cross. we cant control the weather, but we can prepare to live more comfortably and safely with heat.

July 2, 2007 - The Mid-Fairfield County Chapter will be hosting several volunteer information sessions at two sites. Opportunities exist in disaster training as well as in blood services and office administration.

July 1, 2007 - The dramatic apartment fire at 563 Stillman St., which hospitalized one mother-to-be, put a Bridgeport firefighters life in jeopardy when the roof exploded, and left 33 residents homeless is only the most recent disaster to eat away at the donations given to the Mid-Fairfield County Chapter of the American Red Cross.

June 20, 2007 - The Mid-Fairfield County Chapter of the American Red Cross has announced its blood drive schedule for July. While summer is a time of family celebrations, vacations and outdoor activities, it also heralds a need for blood donations in every community. Across the country someone needs a transfusion or unit of blood every two seconds. That statistic translates to many communities.

April 17, 2007 - Red Cross Offers Advice for Recovering from a Flood. After a severe rain storm, such as the Noreaster that hit Connecticut this past weekend, you may have found your home has been flooded and/or damaged. Although the floodwaters may be down in some areas, many dangers still exist. The Red Cross offers tips on what to remember in the days ahead and how you can begin the cleanup process.

April 5, 2007 - Red Cross Unveils Auction Items for Gala Fundraiser. The Mid-Fairfield County Chapter of the American Red Cross will host its fourth annual fundraising gala, Paint the Town Red, in collaboration with the New Canaan Red Cross chapter, on May 5, 2007 from 6:30pm-12:00am at The Sheraton Stamford. The evening will feature dining, dancing, live entertainment from the Silver Streaks Band, as well as silent and live auctions presided over by Peter Rathbone of Sothebys in New York.

March 30, 2007 - Red Cross Recognizes Local Community Heroes. The Mid-Fairfield County Chapter of the American Red Cross honored 14 individuals at the Seventh Annual Heroes Breakfast on Friday, March 30, 2007 at the Trumbull Marriott.

March 23, 2007 - Red Cross and OSHA Offer Free Seminar on Workplace Health and Safety. According to the latest statistics by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), in one year, occupational illnesses, injuries and fatalities cost the Unites States economy $142.2 billion. This included 5,703 work-related fatalities and 4.3 million workplace injuries & illnesses, of which 1.3 million resulted in days away from work.

March 20, 2007 - Red Cross Offers Instructor Course. The Mid-Fairfield County Chapter of the American Red Cross is offering a Lay Responder First Aid and CPR/AED Instructor Course for those interested in becoming a Red Cross instructor.

March 19, 2007 - Local Red Cross Receives Donation from Not-For-Profit Organization. The Mid-Fairfield County Chapter of the American Red Cross recently received a donation in the amount of $2,500.00 from the Fairfield/Westchester Chapter of the Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc. The Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) organization serves over 9,500 risk management professionals around the world and represents over 4,500 industrial, service, nonprofit, charitable and governmental entities.

March 16, 2007 - Red Cross Gala Preparations Underway. The Mid-Fairfield County Chapter of the American Red Cross has begun preparations for its fourth annual fundraising gala, Paint the Town Red, in collaboration with the New Canaan Red Cross chapter. The event will be held at The Sheraton Stamford on Saturday, May 5, 2007 from 6:30pm-12:00am and will feature dining, dancing, live entertainment from the Silver Streaks Band, as well as live and silent auctions. Peter Rathbone of Sothebys will serve as the live auctioneer. Tickets are $250 per person and black tie is optional.

March 6, 2007 - In celebration of National Red Cross Month in March, the Mid-Fairfield County Chapter of the American Red Cross will be saluting men, women and youth from the community whose extraordinary acts of courage and kindness make them local heroes.

March 6, 2007 - The Mid-Fairfield County Chapter of the American Red Cross responded to a three-home fire late Tuesday evening on Connecticut Avenue in Bridgeport. The fire damaged apartment units 472, 474, 480, 482, 488 and 490 within the three homes. Disaster Action Team Members provided seventeen adults and seven children with lodging at a local hotel and groceries to help meet their immediate needs. The Red Cross also offered counseling on their recovery options.

Feb 28, 2007 - Red Cross Provides Assistance to Bridgeport Fire Victims. The Mid-Fairfield County Chapter of the American Red Cross responded to a fire Thursday afternoon at a multi-family home at 519 & 521 Laurel Avenue in Bridgeport.

Feb 16, 2007 - Vehicle Donation Program Supports Local Red Cross Work. RedCrossMotors Donation Program Available Across Connecticut. Your unwanted vehicle may save a life. Donate your old car, boat, truck, mobile home or motorcycle to the RedCrossMotors program and help your local Red Cross Chapter provide emergency services to local disaster victims, assist towns with emergency planning, or offer lifesaving training in CPR and First Aid.

Feb 13, 2007 - Use American Red Cross Storm Survival Tips to Stay Safe. With a powerful Noreaster expected to leave snow along much of the East Coast today, the American Red Cross reminds the public to prepare for severe weather conditions by following the steps outlined.

Feb12, 2007 - Red Cross Provides Assistance to Bridgeport Fire Victims. The Mid-Fairfield County Chapter of the American Red Cross responded to a fire Monday morning at a two family home at 104-106 Center Street in Bridgeport.

Feb 6, 2007 - Red Ribbon Ball benefits Mid-Fairfield Red Cross Chapter and Cardinal Shehan Center. The Mid-Fairfield County Chapter of the American Red Cross and Cardinal Shehan Center celebrated its annual Red Ribbon Ball on Saturday, February 3, 2007 at the Trumbull Marriott. The event was attended by more than 160 guests and raised nearly $38,000 for the two organizations.

Feb 5, 2007 - Red Cross Provides Assistance to Stratford Residents after Power Outage. The Mid-Fairfield County Red Cross Chapter provided assistance to five families on Sunday evening after a power outage at their apartment complex on Hollister Street in Stratford
